An Object Rightly Seen
Keratin creatures on the battleground
Resilient and strong
Ten soldiers
Tinged and hinged
By the pale, pink skin
The winter cold has colored
They fight off the threads
Of your favorite wool sweater
They chant and drum
To that song stuck in your head
Against tabletops and counters
Keratin creatures on the battleground
Resilient and strong
Ten soldiers
Marred by the tension that
Drafted enamel beasts to pacify
The nerves dissolving your shoulders
They write your name
On the coast of your favorite beach
Nailed against the space between
Frustration and anger
They burrow beneath your palm
Leaving a trail of crescent shaped craters
Keratin creatures on the battleground
Resilient and strong
Ten soldiers
March on, march on, march on
I am not old
It was really great to see you. From our conversations, the older I get, the more realize how Vampiric with energy I am. Every age group adds to the culture. I am not old, but at 27 I realize my internal torch flickers a bit more than it used to. I see you being able to take that to far places. I see a world though in the not too distant future where we will be at the top of the world.

I hope you saw something beautiful today. I hope it’s raining nicely where you are. I hope you’re smiling.
